Round 2

Kaden commenced his 2nd round of an expected 5-day course of Chemotherapy on Monday (16/3). At this stage he is receiving this treatment as an outpatient. The downside is travelling 2 hours back and forth to the hospital each day, but the upside is that he gets to stay at home at night 🙂 At this stage Kaden has not been in too much pain, and although of course he is still rather tired, he is still managing to keep up with some of his recent activities. We are all wishing them the very best that his pain will remain manageable. xoxo

Fun at Home

Kaden has been enjoying some family time at home the past few days. He managed to play some Xbox with Dad (who was pretty chuffed with that). Understandly the K-man has been rather tired, and needing plenty of sleep. At least his pain is now under control. Kaden’s Auntie Linda, and his cousins Maddy and Hannah have been over from Melbourne for a few days to see him, and give support. Last night they managed to spend some time with him at home and the girls did some puzzles with him. Good times!

Uncle Joe has been over from Melbourne for the past week (arm around Kaden in the photo), holding the fort at home for Finn & Lee, and helping to look after little Liam, running him to Kinder, etc. And Joe has done all this with a broken arm! Thanks so much Uncle Joe xoxo.

Heading Home!

Latest news is that Kaden is heading home! It will be great for him to be back at home in his own room and bed. And to give Mum and Dad a break from the travel to and from hospital. Big hugs to Kaden, Finn, Lee and of course Liam, glad to have his big brother at home. xoxo

Tests

Yesterday Kaden had an MRI scan, to try and discover where his pain is coming from. He did a fantastic job at keeping still inside the machine for the 20 minute scan. At this stage the results from this scan appear to be clear, but I believe they still need to confirm this with the doctors.

This afternoon (2:30pm Perth time) he was also undergoing a bone scan (another possible source of his pain).

It is good to see that they are trying to give him a thorough examination, so that they can give him the best possible care.
