Today’s Op

Very early this morning we arrived at the hospital to book Kaden in for his stent operation.

The operation went well & was very quick. Although they were happy with how the bile duct was functioning, they decided to put in another bigger stent to widen the duct a little more. This stent will be able to stay in for around 3 months & can also be removed either in Perth or Sydney. Kaden recovered very well today except for the mishap with his feeding tube being inserted too far & also put back into the wrong side of his nose. They are keeping him in the hospital tonight to administer antibiotics & for observation.

We’re hoping that with this new stent in, his numbers will improve dramatically over the next few days  šŸ˜€

Birthday CelebrationsĀ

We have had a few busy days celebrating Lee’s, Elaine’s & Kaden’s birthdays šŸ˜ƒ Thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes & gifts, they all had a good day.

Early this morning, Kaden had an ultra sound & then we went to the clinic for his weekly review & blood test.

On Thursday Kaden will be going under to review his stent to see if it has worked or if they will need to put a new one in. There’s still no word on when we will be able to go home to Perth, it will all depend on the test results & what type of chemo the oncology team will decide to give Kaden.

Thank you

This journey has been a tough one. There’s been many tears & heartbreaking moments, times when we think ‘how will we get through this?’ One major thing that has helped us get through these times are you, our amazing family & friends, friends of friends & surrounding communities. Your on going support has been overwhelming & we are so very grateful for all that everyone has done & continues to do for us. From fund raisers, to gifts for the kids, flying over to Sydney & Perth to support us, looking after our home & cat in Perth, regular phone calls and messages, you all have been truely amazing & we can’t thank you enough.

Below I have compiled a list of some of the fabulous support we have recently received while on this journey.
